Abdulaziz Baimatov was living in Russia in Tyumen region until 2005. In 2005 the Uzbek authority demanded to the Russian authority of the Tyumen region the extradition request of Abdulaziz Baimatov on the basis of his affiliation with Wahabi group and other anti-constitutional activities ( DW, 2007, 2008).

Stage 1 details (accusations/ charges/ Interpol notice/ extradition requests):

In 2005, the Uzbek authority demanded to the Russian authority of the Tyumen region the extradition request of Abdulaziz Baimatov.  The Uzbek authorities initiated criminal proceedings against him and accused him in engaging in anti-constitutional activities and belonging to Wahabi group -a banned transnational organisation (DW, 2007, 2008).

The Uzbek authorities demanded his extradition in 2005. In 2006 the Migration authority in Russia refused his extradition to Uzbekistan.( DW, 2007, 2008).

Stage 3 details (attack/ abduction/ rendition/ torture/ assassination/ death):

On the 25th of April, 2007, he was kidnapped from the premises of Nizhneserginsky city district office of internal affairs of the Sverdlovsk region. He was sent to Uzbekistan in Tashkent and awaiting for his trial in the Namangan region.( DW, 2007, 2008).
