Stage 1 details (accusations/ charges/ Interpol notice/ extradition requests):

Accused of participating in banned extremist organisations, including Hizb ut-Tahrir. Also accused of setting up a fund with his friends for the intention of financing the activities of jihadist organisations (Ponomarev, 2012).

Stage 2 details (arrest/ detention/ extradition):

Detained on 15 November 2012 with four other Uzbek citizens at Vnukovo Airport in Moscow when trying to fly back to Uzbekistan (Ponomarev, 2012).

Stage 3 details (attack/ abduction/ rendition/ torture/ assassination/ death):

Uzbek security services visited Fazletidinov in the Russian detention centre where they interrogated him. They openly threatened torture and photographs indicated signs of severe beatings. Fazletidinov committed suicide in his cell on 9 December 2012. (Ponomarev, 2012)
