Who, Why and How exiled:

Kholov has been associated with an organised crime group - Mullo Abdullo - led by Abdullo Rakhimov, between 1996 and 2005. On the 18th July 1996, the group allegedly attacked the house of a local resident in Tajikistan, wounding the home owner and stealing $7000 (MVD., 2015).

Abdullo Rakhimov was one of the last irreconcilable leaders of the United Tajik Opposition who rejected the 1997 peace deal which ended the civil war in the republic (Shustov, 2011).

Stage 1 details (accusations/ charges/ Interpol notice/ extradition requests):

On 10th March 2014 the prosecutor’s office in the Tajik city of Roghun instituted criminal proceedings against Kholov, under provisions of the following articles of Tajikistan’s Penal Code: Article 186 (2) – banditry; Article 32 (2) – criminal attempt; and Article 104 (2) – attempted homicide by a group persons. Kholov was arrested in March 2015  by officers of the Interpol GU MVD of Russia in Yekaterinburg,  where he lived with his family  (MVD, 2015).
