Stage 1 details (accusations/ charges/ Interpol notice/ extradition requests):

Wanted in Uzbekistan for crimes including terrorism, attempting to overthrow the constitutional order and participating in a religious extremist organisation (HRW, 2013; Ferghana news, 2013).

Stage 2 details (arrest/ detention/ extradition):

Arrested and detained by Kyrgyz authorities in October 2010 following an extradition request from Uzbekistan. Released in February 2011 after Kyrgyz courts declined the extradition request on the grounds that he had been awarded UNHCR status. Detained again in December 2011, but released the same day. In February 2013, was reported missing in Bishkek (HRW,  2013).

Located in April 2013 in a pretrial detention center in Andijan, Uzbekistan. Human rights activists say Uzbek authorities may have abducted him (Ferghana News,  2013).

According to the Association for Human Rights in Central Asia, his exact location as of June 2019 is unknown, as is his health. His relatives reside in the United States with refugee status (AHRCA, 2019).
