Accused of committing crimes under articles: 307.1, Part 1 and 2 (public appeals to violent change of the constitutional order of the Republic of Tajikistan); 307.2, Part 2 (organization of an extremist community) of the Criminal Code of Tajikistan (Atayeva, 2015).

Sattarov was arrested in Moscow on 3 December 2014 at the request of Tajikistan for extradition (TajInfo, 2014; Atayeva, 2015).

Sattarov was the trustee of the leader of the movement Maksud Ibragimov. Ibragimov was abducted in Moscow in January 2015. He was then illegally exported to Tajikistan, where he was subjected to torture and was sentenced to 17 years in prison (TajInfo, 2014)
