Who, Why and How exiled: Khudojberdi was an active member of the political opposition Birlik movement in the early 1990s (NSD, 2005). Khudojberdi was detained several times in Uzbekistan between the years 1991 and 1994, before moving to Sweden (NSD, 2005).
Other actions during Stages 1–3 (dispossession/ overseas assets frozen/ intimidation/ action against associates/ …): Khudojberdi maintained active in his opposition to President Karimov in Uzbekistan updating a website that he founded named "Stop Dictator Karimov" (Fergana News, 2007). This was banned in Uzbekistan (Fergana News, 2007).
Current status: Khudojberdi lives in Sweden and continues to campaign for human rights in both Uzbekistan and worldwide continuing to update a website called the International Human Rights Society of Uzbekistan (International Human Rights Society of Uzbekistan, 2018).
