Who, Why and How exiled: Suhrob Zafar and Nasimjon Sharipov, senior members of the Tajik opposition political movement Group 24 were detained in Istanbul on March 19, 2018, at the request of Tajik authorities ( Human Rights Watch, 2018).

Stage 2 details (arrest/ detention/ extradition): They have been detained in Turkey in March 2018. On March 23, Human Rights Watch's (HRW) Central Asia researcher, Steve Swerdlow, told RFE/RL that Turkey's Constitutional Court had ruled to suspend their possible extradition amid concerns that they might face torture while in custody in Tajikistan ( RFE/RL, 2018)

Current status: They have been currently held in detention centre in Turkey. Their extradition has been suspended for three months ( RFE/RL, 2018).
