Vosiyev, Abdurahim
Who, Why and How exiled: Born in 1987 in the Khalton District of the Khalton Region of Tajikistan. He is a resident of the city of Kabodyan (Atayeva, 2015) but he later moved to Russia. He moved to Russia and was affiliated with the group Youth for the Revival of Tajikistan (YRT) (Human Rights Watch, 2016).
Stage 1 details (accusations/ charges/ Interpol notice/ extradition requests): He was charged by the Tajik authorities for extremist activities (Радио Озоди,2015). Tajik authorities charged him with founding an “extremist community” (article 307) and making calls to “mass disorder and the violent seizure of power” (article 307.1).
Stage 2 details (arrest/ detention/ extradition): Arrested in Russia on 12 November 2014 and held for in a pretrial detention facility in Moscow for months waiting for extradition to Tajikistan (Asia-Plus, 2015).
Current status: He was released from his detention in 2015 (Радио Озоди, 2015). While he has been released following 12 months of detention, he still faces the possibility of extradition (Human Rights Watch, 2016).
